Crossovers are a class of electronic filter used in audio applications. Most individual loudspeaker drivers are incapable of covering the entire audio spectrum from low frequencies to high frequencies with acceptable relative volume and lack of distortion so most hi-fi speaker systems use a combination of multiple loudspeakers or drivers, each catering to a different frequency band. Crossovers split the audio signal into separate frequency bands that can be separately routed to loudspeakers optimized for those bands.

at what frequencies do i set the car audio crossover points?

I have 5 1 / 4 "and 4x6 in the back in front. The amp has a fixed 85Hz HP filter suspect. But I is still low. Speakers are designed for 5-40 rms and 120 peak . mtx amp is 50x4.

For 50wrms x 4, 85Hz is fine. I would not buy F-mods until I listnened first. If you add f-mods, they would only do you good if you want the breakpoint to a higher freq.
Personally, I have my high pass at 80Hz, 80Hz @ lpf well.

Even though its exterior may be polarizing, the heart and soul of the car definitely brings people together. Under the hood, the ZDX sports a 3.7L VTEC V6 engine that churns out 300hp @ 6300rpm and 270lb-ft @4500pm of torque. Blend that with a super handling all-wheel drive and you have a vehicle that can seriously move! Admittedly, I was weary of the handling — crossovers have a tendency to disappoint in this department, a result of mixing and matching features from different car categories. Fortunately, the ZDX does the crossover category justice. It has a nice sporty suspension that responds well in the corners yet is not as stiff as your typical sports car, key when driving through the never-ending constructions zones of Toronto's downtown core.
